Like Peter, (The Sound of Silence's main character), Principal Andrea Lynn's relationship with the science of sound is long and layered.
She was an annoying college roommate, she will tell you, as she tried to figure out how to stop her dorm room's mini-fridge from buzzing. She can't stand the whir of air conditioning systems. She purchased her first noise-cancelling headphones the day her complex's lawn maintenance crew turned away from their rakes and brooms and powered on their leaf blowers.
As a noise-sensitive human but someone not diagnosed with misophonia, Andrea tries to understand the power of sound … not just sound within the context of hearing, but from the lens of vibrations, which are accessible to everyone.
Each living organism has a unique experience when it comes to vibrations. If you would like to learn more about your own experiences or share your insights, join Cotton Wolf soon!
